We started our day with a talk about our letter of the week, B. The preschoolers were able to think of many words that started with B, so we drew pictures of each word on the white board. Our friend Grace shared the letter bag and brought in some other great B words. Ask your child to think of something that starts with the letter B.
We continued our discussion on Hibernation by talk about how some animals like the cold and others don’t. The ones that don’t like the cold and the snow go into a deep sleep. Ask your preschooler if they can remember an animal that hibernates!
During centers we dove more into the concept of measuring by measuring our hands (Monday) and our feet (Tuesday). The preschoolers were so curious about learning how many cubes tall their hands and feet were. These measuring activities are on display in the hallway.
Some centers we will continue throughout the week are:
Snow sensory tub (baking soda and conditioner) with winter animals (bears, polar bears, arctic wolf) and caves.
Creating the letter B using dobbers, yarn, wooden pieces, blocks and more.
Measuring using connecting cubes and blocks.
Sequencing events using sequencing cards.
Reviewing shapes using Playdough and Geoboards.
During Jesus time,we continued talking about how Jesus is ALL POWERFUL. We read the story of Jesus helping Jairus and his family. Ask your preschooler if they can remember the story.
We read some books on Hibernation today called “Why Do Animals Hibernate” and “Bear Snores On”.
Don’t forget, Friday is an early dismissal day for full day students at 12:30.
See some of you tomorrow!
