This morning we started a discussion about fall. We talked about how the leaves change and fall from the trees. After this discussion we read a book called “Leaf Man” by Lois Ehlert. This a story about how leaves of different colors form into different shapes and creatures. After reading the book, the preschoolers went outside on a leaf hunt to gather leaves and other objects to make our own leaf creatures! Ask your preschooler about some of the things they found.
When we came back inside we made our own leaf creatures at the table. We used lots of glue, acorns, leaves and sticks to make our own creations! The preschoolers were so proud of what they made! These leaf creatures are at school and will be hung in the hallway when dry.
We made our letter C yarn book pages also. The preschoolers are getting so much better at using just the right amount of glue!
Some centers we will be using all week are:
Dressing up with straw hats and plaid shirts and raking leaves into piles.
Playing in our fall sensory tub with acorns, leaves, beans, pine cones scoops and cups.
During Jesus time I pulled out our story Bible to read about the story of Moses as a baby. Ask your preschooler to tell you some details from the story.
Here are some pictures from our fun day!
Don’t forget to sign up for a parent teacher conference on October 20. The sign up sheet is outside the classroom.
See you tomorrow!
