Tip-Top Tuesday

We started our day with a question “What do you put inside your house to decorate for Christmas?”. The answer was an easy one ” A CHRISTMAS TREE”. We talked about how a Christmas tree is an Evergreen tree, which means it stays green all year long, even when it gets cold out. We also discussed what trees need to survive and grow. We brought this discussion all back to God by realizing that God created all that we have even the trees!

During centers the preschoolers used green triangles, colored circles, brown rectangles and colorful squiggles to create their own Christmas tree scene. These are hanging in the hall!

Some centers today were:

-Using shaving cream to write our letter of the week, P and to practice our names.
-Cookie matching number game- preschoolers counted the sprinkles on cookies and had to match it to the correct number.

During Jesus time, we used a poem with actions to tell about the Wise men finding their way to Jesus. Ask your preschooler if they can remember any details from the poem.

During our Music/Movement time, we began practicing some new songs, the first is “We Wish You a Merry Christmas”. The preschoolers were very excited to sing this song and to do the silly dance that went along with it. The second song we have been working on is “Away in a Manger”. The preschoolers love the motions to this song! Ask your preschooler if they can sing either song for you!

This week we will be working to finish up our December portfolio projects and our gifts to you for Christmas.

See many of you tomorrow!
